We can’t say for sure without knowing all the circumstances but you can talk to us in confidence about why you are away and why you think you might not be allowed back.
Maybe there were arguments at home and you were angry when you left. Maybe somebody was angry with you. Or you may have done or said something you feel ashamed of now. Runaway Helpline will never judge and we will always listen. Sometimes it helps to talk to the people involved; whether that’s a parent, a carer, your social worker or care home, we can help you do that.
You might not be ready to talk directly to people back home. Sometimes it can help to ‘test the water’ by asking Runaway Helpline to send a message for you. When we pass a message, we always ask if there is a message back. Then you can call us again to find out if there is a message from home, and what that message is. We will never pass a message for you or to you which is negative or which might be hurtful.
The Runaway Helpline can only provide services to children and young people within the United Kingdom, and information and advice on this site relates to the UK only.
