Problems at school could be anything that makes your school experience difficult or unhappy. It could be that you are being bullied, or that you are struggling to keep up academically, or that you are having difficulties with a member of staff, exam stress, peer pressure etc.

It can be challenging to go to a place five days a week if it is a difficult or very unhappy place to be. Reaching out for help for school-related issues may feel challenging. Perhaps you are worried about people finding out about the problems you are having or perhaps you are embarrassed by what is happening or afraid of judgement? Whatever it is that is going on, it may be better to help to try and fix it than to run from it.

Education is important, and it is also important that you are happy when you’re learning. School is supposed to be a safe place for you to be, so if you don’t feel as if it is, then it is important to speak up. If you can, approach a teacher or another trusted adult. If this is not an option, reach out to a supportive organisation for help and support.
