Concern for a parent or relative's health

Having a parent or relative who is having health problems can be very stressful and upsetting. It’s totally understandable to worry, especially if they are the person who is supposed to be looking after you and you end up having to look after you.

Sadly, sickness is a part of life we cannot escape – sometimes people get sick with things that are easy to recover from, and sometimes the illness is more serious. There is medical help for people who are sick, and if you do end up becoming their carer, there is some support for you available on helplines or special message boards online and social services depending on your situation.
