Benefits

If you or your family are struggling and need help with money, then depending on your age and situation you might be able to get benefits to help. Benefits mean money that is given by the government to people who are not able to afford things for various reasons.

There are lots of different types of benefits that you might be able to apply for – whether you can get certain benefits depends on how old you are and what your income is (income is how much money you make at your job or that your family makes in their jobs). You can find out about benefits online, and there is advice available (online or through a social worker) for what benefits would be helpful for you and how to apply for them.

If you are under 18, there may be less benefits available to you, but you have other things that are available to you that could help you. To find out what your options are, you could get in touch with a social worker who should be able to help you get other help.
